PRESS: Russia’s Pharmacy Chain 36.6 buys US WBA’s distributor
MOSCOW, Apr 11 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Pharmacy Chain 36.6 has bought the local distributor of U.S.’ Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), business daily Kommersant reported on Monday, citing a source with knowledge of the details of the negotiations.
The source said that this will be a non-cash deal, Pharmacy Chain 36.6 will pay for a 100% stake in the Netherlands-based company called UniChem Healthcare, the owner of Alliance Healthcare Rus, with a stake in one of its affiliates.
Alliance Healthcare Rus was the sixth largest pharmaceuticals distributor in Russia in 2015 with a 7.8% market share and sales amounting to 79.7 billion rubles with the value-added tax.
